Each session helps improve your reflexes, fitness, and game strategy—all while having a blast. Open to all K, 1st, and 2nd—just bring your energy and a positive attitude!

Students explore the Pokémon universe through critical thinking and strategic analysis. Members study game mechanics, lore, and battle tactics while developing skills in problem-solving, communication, collaboration, math skills, and reading/writing skills. Open to all interested students K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd—no experience required.

The Colorado (CO-20101) Cadet Squadron of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) was established on July 1, 2010, by agreement between the United States Air Force and the Mapleton School District.
The Air Force Junior ROTC curriculum includes aerospace related academic instruction and leadership training. The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor and Leadership Education Instructor are retired Air Force personnel with extensive backgrounds in professional education and Air Force training.
The cadet squadron will be managed and operated by cadet commissioned and non-commissioned officers. Through the cadet organization, cadets learn leadership skills and how to direct activities.
As a Mapleton student, you have the opportunity to compete in a variety of junior high and high school sports as a proud Skyview Wolverine. Competing as a Skyview Wolverine takes time, energy and focus, but the rewards are great. Mapleton Public Schools invites all eligible students to participate in their favorite sports and to try out for a new sport in another season.
The Mapleton SOS program is dedicated to serving and inspiring youth. We work in conjunction with the nonprofit SOS Outreach. SOS teaches core values, provides adult mentoring and creates community outreach opportunities through adventure sports and service learning. SOS aims to build protective factors and resiliency characteristics in youth through our Learn to Ride and Mentor programs.
Who can participate?
Mapleton SOS is first available to all Mapleton 7th and 8th grade students through the Learn to Ride Program (LTR). Students who complete LTR become eligible for the SOS University Program for the remainder of their Mapleton career.
Students must apply for the LTR program in middle school. Applications are usually distributed in October and the LTR program is held in December.
The SOS Mentor Program (formally the University Program) is a year-round program beginning in October. Students in this program meet together at least once a month to complete service learning projects or snowboard as a group. Most other events are set within small groups.
Students in the SOS program are expected to complete all the required elements (service learning projects, ride days, meetings). Furthermore, SOS students are expected to maintain good academics, behavior and attendance in order to participate.
The LTR program costs students $25 and the Mentor program costs $150-$250.

As a member of the Denver Urban Debate League, Mapleton students have the opportunity to learn and achieve through competitive debate and speech activities. Students may participate in the following activities:
Debate: Students learn how to argue, rebut arguments, research, and think quickly.
Congress: Students write and persuasively argue legislation in a congressional chamber.
Speech: Students can choose to participate in a variety of events. Impromptu (Responding immediately and quickly to a prompt), Drama (Performing a dramatic monologue or paired performance), Slam Poetry (Perform an original piece of poetry or verse), Informational Speaking (Present, demonstrate and inform the audience), Oratory (Pick a topic, create a speech, perform and impress the judges)
In 2015, Mapleton's Speech and Debate Team took home the League Champion trophy. Mapleton's top varsity debate team also attended the National Tournament in San Francisco. Alumni from Mapleton's speech and debate team are currently attending Stanford, MIT, Yale and other prestigious universities. In 2015, coach Josh Hirsch was named Coach of the Year. Current Mapleton Students have earned some of the highest honors in the debate league, including representing Denver at the national debate competition.
Who can participate?
The Speech and Debate Club is open to all Mapleton 9-12 grade students. It is never too late to join the club and students from all Mapleton campuses are invited to attend.
All students are required to:
Debaters meet with their partner or work on their own for 2-4 hours a week
Attend practice weekly.
Speakers will create their own material and practice together.
Debate Practice
Debate practice is held every Monday and Friday from 4:00 - 5:30 PM in Rooms E108 and E112 at York International.
Be sure to sign your child up for after school clubs!
Winter Clubs start December 8th through February 27th.
